Born in Australia and raised in NZ, sporting has always been a big part of Keilamarita’s life. Carrying both sides of her Māori and Samoan heritage with pride, she has represented both countries on the international stage - wearing the blue jersey for Manusina Samoa 7’s and NZ for judo. Her passion for sport and adventure led her to Japan where she spent the most of 4 years playing 7’s rugby.
Before her professional rugby career, Keilamarita studied at the University of Canterbury where she graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing, and Strategy and Entrepreneurship. From there, a world of opportunities opened and she took the leap to leave her job as a marketing assistant for an English teaching gig in Japan - the gateway to her rugby career.
She has since returned to NZ having sustained a major injury and intends to use this period to focus on her rehab while also launching her sustainable athleisure wear brand to empower and encourage health and wellbeing. With a keen interest in more holistic approaches to support her recovery, as well as the alignment of her values with those of Hydra Longevity, teaming up seems like the natural fit!
